Finding New Avon Customers.
This question came up recently on the Avon Connects site regarding canvassing for new customers. Avon reps regularly ask if we have to stick to our designated territories and here is the official reply
"here is the official line for you -
"here is the official line for you -
A Representative can find Customers in 2 ways:
1. Canvassing a territory allocated by the ASM or upline Sales Leader - Brochures should be delivered to the homes on the territory and recanvassed on a regular basis.
2. Identifying 'Who they Know' - these customers are the Representatives personal network, e.g. family, friends and work colleagues
Customers in a Representatives network may live anywhere. However in regard to canvassing a road or street, this can only occur if the street is allocated by the ASM or upline Sales Leader."
Now that this has been made clear, I have decided to base my business mainly on Facebook you can find me on this page >>>>>>>>>GOSPORT BEAUTY AND SKIN CARE
There is a contact link on that page where you can send your orders for delivery to your home in Gosport. I can also send out orders to any address in the UK.
I charge £2 for shipping the first item and then 50p extra for each additional item in the same order. The shipping costs are negotiable as some items are easily bundled together at a low level of shipping.
For home deliveries I would expect cash on delivery but for postal deliveries I will send an invoice after the final cost is agreed. I can send either a Paypal or Google Checkout Invoice which can be paid using a credit or debit card...just like when buying from other sites.
Hopefully I have simplified how things work when you buy from me but if you have any other questions please reply to this post...use my contact link on the Gosport Beaughty and Skin Care page or you can message me on my Facebook account which is here >>>>>>>>Sunny Martin
Thanks for reading this post...please contact me with any queries or just reply and say 'Hi' :)

10 Avon Myths Busted...(Found on Facebook)
1 I Never Make Any Money
It’s funny because this statement is actually true and is usually repeated by former Avon Reps who, er, never made any money!
Why? Because they DIDN’T GET IT!
- They didn’t get the 5 “A”s… Anybody, Anytime, Anywhere, Always Ask.
- They didn’t get the fact that Avon is NOT a job; it’s a fabulous business opportunity.
- They didn’t get off their backsides and MAKE IT WORK!!
There are 1000s of women (and men!) in the UK creating life changing incomes. You will NEVER hear them say I “never make any money with Avon”.
2 You Can Only Work On Your Own Territory ( well this guy has a different viewpoint)
Wrong! We’re back to the five “A”s again (see 1. above). Territory can be allocated but it’s only a means to get started and to find your first customers.
You can (and to succeed, you MUST!) canvass for new customers ANYWHERE! You can stand in the street in a pink bunny outfit accosting unwary shoppers, you can put fliers (but not current brochures) through ANY door, and you can knock on ANY door and ask “Do you want to see an Avon brochure”.
Anybody and everybody are prospective customers.
3 Avon Is Old Fashioned
Sorry? Have you seen the lingerie section??
‘nuff said.
4 You have to buy your own books
Not to start with you don’t! Unlike another brochure based franchise who charge £80 (I believe) for a supply of brochures, Avon Reps receive enough books for their first two campaigns FREE. From then on you pay about £5 for 20 but your earnings will cover that with ease.
Avon is a business, not a job, so like any business, there will be expenses; stationery, samples, demo products etc etc. but a successful Rep will cover these costs from day one.
5 I Have To Pay To Join Avon
To become an Avon Rep, you do NOT part with any cash.
However, Avon will charge two amounts of £7.50 on your first two campaign invoices to cover their admin costs. Again, the discount on the first orders will cover these amounts.
Compare this with the costs to set up some of the many other franchises available which often run into the £1000s.
6 I’ll Be On My Own
Avon use a brilliant slogan to bust this myth “In business FOR yourself but not BY yourself”.
Not only will you receive training, support and encouragement from your Sales Leader and Area Managers but there are many Area, Regional and National events where you can meet up with other Reps and Leaders, swap experiences and ideas and get all the gossip from Avon HQ.
On top of that there are dozens of online hang outs where you can keep in touch with other Reps and Leaders, Facebook being the obvious one.
7 Avon – “The Company For Women”
Avon was established (125 years ago!) as a cosmetics company so yes, the emphasis has always been on the fairer sex. Avon support causes such as Breast Cancer Research and fighting Domestic Violence which are subjects close to most women’s’ hearts.
However! Fact : the most successful Avon Sales Leader in the UK (at the time of writing) is a man, David Carter. Debbie Davis and Gail Reynolds at 2 and 3 respectively, work with their partners so whilst the emphasis is on women (and so it should be) men have shown they can be just as successful as the ladies!
8 “I Don’t Do Avon”
I’m getting bored with hearing this soooo often from people I canvass.
There is a misconception that Avon is just about cosmetics. That suggests to me that Reps are not doing their job properly. Check the latest brochure. If half of it covers makeup and cosmetics I’ll be surprised. With such a HUGE range of goodies; lingerie, kid’s (and now baby) stuff, jewellery, bags, sleepwear etc. etc., this objection is simply not valid.
As I was tempted to say to one lady who said this to me “You WASH, don’t you?!?”
9 Avon Is A Get Rich Quick Scheme
No … it isn’t.
But it IS a way to build your own successful business with one of the top 100 brand names in the world (check out how much it costs to start a MacDonald’s franchise).
Millions of people around the world create profitable and robust businesses under the Avon umbrella. No it’s not a get rich quick scheme but with the right approach anyone can live the dream!
… and lastly but not leastly…
10 Avon is A Pyramid Scheme
I wish I had £1 for every time I’d heard this. I wouldn’t need to work my backside off!
Put simply a Pyramid scheme is a structure where no goods of value change hands. You pay me to join the scheme. I keep part of your payment and pass some on the person who sold it to me and so on and so on.
Importantly, Pyramid Schemes are ILLEGAL in the UK so there is no way that a company of Avon’s stature, reputation and longevity is going to structure their marketing effort along this model.
Avon Reps and Sales Leaders only get to eat when the products are sold and paid for.
So! Ten Avon myths busted. Now what’s your excuse…?
